YouTube channel 26/12/2021  BY  MOREESTONIAN I started my YouTube channel  “Learning Estonian”   on 20th of August 2021. I even don’t  know where the idea of that channel came from. But the thought was there and I couldn’t ignore it. I felt like I really want to give back to the world. As I was recovering from my back injury for several months, from 22th of Sept 2019 till I think April 2020, I could move only for a little while, then I was tired again and had to lay down, I watched so much YouTube during that period. And I was so grateful for that platform and all the YouTubers, like  Bella Fiori  who for example does research about murder cases. I also watched many videos about European history and listened a lot of meditation music.   What program to use? At first I searched quite a while how people even do their own videos. I remembered, that once upon a time there was built-in a Video Maker, but I had never used it. Yet again YouTube helped me out. As I was just starting, I reall

Building a website

Building a website 15/12/2021  BY  MOREESTONIAN I had no intention what so ever to build a website though. But I got influenced by Marika Juusu aka Proua Ekspert. She made a free video series about building a website with WordPress. It lasted three days, 6th till 8th of December 2021. At that time website host Veebimajutus made also a campaign – the domain registration for one year with three month of server hosting was only 1€. So I decided to try. I have had experience with WordPress already, I have done blog posts, edited pages, created galleries. I must say, it was so much fun. I have also used blogger, so something I already knew. But I didn’t know for example from where new users and e-mails are coming from. First steps Register a domain Make sure your SSL is done  ➜ click on your domain ➜ ‘veebiserver’ ➜ ‘SSL sertifikaat’ ➜ Choose Let’s Encrypt as ‘sertifikaadi tüüp’ and order ‘telli’, it’s free and updates automatically. Your website is secure, if it’s not done the websites w

BUSINESS Start a business 06/12/2021  BY  MOREESTONIAN What do you do on an average Saturday evening? Well, I started a business and filled in the application. It should take only 15 minutes to start a company in Estonia, but some words were unknown to me, I searched the meanings and kept on going. Finally I got frustrated and  watched some comedy series with my young niece instead. So the time went. I believe it took me 5 hours or so, but eventually it happened ⎯ the application was completed!  Somehow I assumed that it’s enough and my new business name will just appear in the business register, funny me. Of course it didn’t. The application still had to be processed. On Monday, December 06, 2021 Registration Department of Tartu County Court sent me a transcript and the whole process was completed! Nice! I have officially registered business now. Wow! I’m still amazed. Why to start a business now? I wanted to do something of my own for quite some time now and me and my niece even ha
